A lovely red served at my favourite pub.

Red Lion and Pineapple, W3

A fairly standard Wetherspoons, there were lots of older men here when we arrived at 6pm but a few younger people turned up later. Good ales, as usual. Marston's Single Hop was slightly spicy and extremely tasty. Oakham's JHB was light and hoppy but my fave was the Black Gold.

Canterbury Brewers' "Foundry Topedo" and "Haka"

Just a year old, the Canterbury Brewers have a lovely range of ales though I was upset with myself not to get to the stout today. The Foundry Torpedo was tasty enough but the Haka had that extra bit of body that I like. Oh, and there was 10% off for CAMRA members.

Sunny Republic "Huna Red"

 The Huna Red was my favourite of the three thirds I had in a Canterbury Nicholsons. Spicy. Leeds Brewery's Hell Fire was hoppy and light, not so much my type. Hopdaemon's Incubus was not dissimilar to the Huna Red and I enjoyed it.

Sambrook's "Pumphouse Pale Ale"

Hoppy with citrusy notes.

Brains' "Willy Nilly"

A tasty red.

The Albion, KT8

 We went down to Hampton Court and had lunch at the Good Beer Guide-recommended Albion, which was at the beginning of a beer festival (unfortunately there were no new beers for me). I had the Kelham Island Pale Rider and a lovely butternut squash pie. The landlady - mentioned in the guide - was as welcoming as they said. Definitely a place to visit if you're down there.
