Wadworth's "6X"

Slightly fruity and gassy. Hoppy finish.

Skinner's "Cornish Knocker"

Not too strong on the nose, this is a medium-bodied golden ale.

Brew Dog's "Punk IPA"

The brewery's signature ale is piney and not too complex. Eminently drinkable.

William Blake, EC1V

Large Old Street pub named after my favourite poet/painter though I'm not sure what the connection is. Sports on several screens and three unoriginal ales.

Portobello's "Market Porter"

This is the first beer I've tried from this London brewer and it was excellent. Coffee and a bit of bitter chocolate.

The Masque Haunt, EC1V

Functional Old Street Wetherspoons with their usual excellent range of ales.

London Fields Brewery's "Hackney Hopster"

Very hoppy ale from London.

The Colonel Fawcett, NW1

Met friends here for a Thursday pub quiz and was delighted to have a choice of two decent ales. Good pub, benches outside and a decent quiz.

Ossett's "Elizabeth Rose"

Very light thin golden ale.

Mabel's Tavern, WC1H

Cosy corner pub within easy walking distance of Euston with TVs and benches on the pavement. As well as the tied Shepherd Neame ales, there was a guest available.

Growler's "Augustinian"

Mildly hoppy amber ale.

Lord John Russell, WC1N

Between King's Cross and Russell Square, this decent boozer has a few pumps and outside seating including some covered.
